Miss Rosie Owl is the heart of The Forest Floor Art Room. A place where creativity is more important than tidiness and even mistakes get a round of applause.
She is part artist, part storyteller, part professional misplacer of glasses.
Her nest is filled with jars of buttons, pencils, paints, colourful paper, glitter and a teapot labelled “Ideas – Stir Gently.”
She is an imaginative art teacher who helps children explore creativity through nature, kindness, and curiosity. She believes art should feel like muddy boots and open skies: a little messy, a little brave, and always full of wonder.
the smell of rain
her favourite paintbrush, “Gary”
beetles that shimmer like oil paint
the scratchy sound of charcoal
art is for feeling, not for being perfect
mistakes are just squiggles wearing silly hats
the forest is the oldest and best art teacher of all
The Wonder Basket – filled with nature treasures for inspiration
The Listening Stone – passed around during sharing time
Her teapot of Ideas – imaginary, but always warm
In my art room…
you can be loud or quiet,
neat or gloriously smudgy,
certain or wonderfully confused.
You are not here to be perfect,
you are here to be you.”
Hoot-hoo,
Miss Rosie Owl
